About

With the development of the global carbon market and the launch of the EU's CBAM policy, carbon emission reduction targets have pervaded all stages of the industrial chain, including business compliance, and have brought new development opportunities to the testing and certification industry in Hong Kong, which can provide services such as auditing, verification and certification of carbon emission data. The Hong Kong Association for Testing, Inspection and Certification Limited has successfully applied to the Trade and Industrial Organisation Support Fund for the project "To strengthen the knowledge on the latest carbon credit standards and requirements of voluntary carbon markets (VCMs) for Hong Kong testing and certification (T&C) industry" which will help the industry to understand the latest requirements of the voluntary carbon international standard and enhance their competitiveness.

The first event of the project, "Seminar on Capturing Carbon Market and Carbon Credit Trading Development Opportunities", is scheduled on 9 December 2024. The event will share the opportunities of the voluntary carbon market, the future development trend of the carbon market and its important distribution and introduce different voluntary carbon market standards to facilitate exchange of ideas and learning.
